Slow Food Atlanta’s mission is to create a robust, active
movement that protects taste, culture and the environment as universal
social values. Slow Food Atlanta programs are dedicated to the mingling
of taste, culture and the environment. The Slow Food Movement was
founded in 1986 by Carlo Petrini, who recognized that the industrialization
of food was standardizing taste and leading to the annihilation
of thousands of food varieties and flavors. Today the national Slow
Food organization is active in 45 countries and has a worldwide
membership of over 65,000. For more information, visit www.slowfood.com.
